Diving Lessons are for youth ages 6 years old to 18 years old. We offer three different levels of Diving Lessons.
Beginner: Must be comfortable swimming in the deep in and jumping off the diving board. This class is an introduction to springboard diving. Emphasis will be on learning proper board work, beginning dives, and diving safety.
Intermediate: A continuation of Beginner Diving with emphasis on proper board work, beginning dives, diving safety and an introduction to some competitive dives.
Advanced/High School: This class requires either completion of Intermediate Diving or a short WYRP diving evaluation. The class is designed for the recreational diver who wants to improve skills or may be interested in Ohio High School or AAU diving competition. It is a continuation of Intermediate Diving with an emphasis on front and back board work, proper diving techniques, diving safety and competitive dives.
BEGINNER
This class is an introduction to springboard diving. Participants must be able to do head-first dive off the side of the pool and jump off the diving board unassisted while being able to swim in deep water. Emphasis will be on learning basics of how to go off the board, beginning dives and diving safety.
