Develop strength, balance, problem-solving skills, and mental resilience. Rock Climbing I (Ages 4-6)  - Allows young beginners the opportunity to climb and boulder on our 24-foot high wall.Rock Climbing II (Ages 7-12) - Includes climbing and bouldering games and competitions along with conditioning elements.

The primary purpose of the course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies. It also trains the participants to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over. The RecPlex teaches the American Red Cross Blended Learning Lifeguard course which has seven hours of online instruction and twenty hours of in-person instruction. Students must be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course. Participants must pass the Washington Township Pre-Skills Test in order to take the Lifeguard course. The Pre-Skills Test occurs on the first day of class. Registration includes the $15 fee for the Pre-Skills Test. If the candidate does not pass the Pre-Skills Test, the registration fee will be refunded minus the $15 for the Pre-Skills Test.Participants who successfully pass the final written exam, with a minimum grade of 80%, and the in-water final skills scenarios will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED. Come prepared to each class with a towel, swimsuit, snacks, writing utensil, paper and water bottle.

Youth Volleyball classes are supervised by Kathleen Washington, who played at Rutgers University and went on to play professionally in France.Beginner (Ages 8-10) - For those with little to no experience.  VolleyLite balls will be used.Volleyball I (Ages 10-12) - Focuses on serving, passing, setting and hitting using VolleyLite balls, knee pads recommended.Volleyball II (Ages 12-17) - Builds on the basics using standard volleyballs, in addition to teaching team play principles.

During the class they will go over tying into the rope, and how-to take-out slack when belaying and how to safely lower someone.  Also, proper way to wear harness.  You practice for the rest of the class.  Once the skills are completed you will receive a card to belay.  You will be able to belay during open climb or for special events.Auto Belay certification you will be shown proper way to put on harness. attach carabiner, slow climb, and properly tore Auto Belay.  Requirements for Auto Belay, Auto Belay Card, weight 22-265 pounds, ages 4-15 must have a guardian with them 18 years or older, all participants need waiver.

Did you know there is a magical object that has baffled and fascinated the world for over fifty years? Learn how to solve the world's best-known puzzle, the Rubiks' Cube. All participants must bring their own Rubik's Cube to class. Class meets for 4 weeks. 
 
6:00 PM - 6:30 PM    Belay/Auto Belay Certification Spring-25 - Belay/ Auto Belay Certification
During the class they will go over tying into the rope, and how-to take-out slack when belaying and how to safely lower someone.  Also, proper way to wear harness.  You practice for the rest of the class.  Once the skills are completed you will receive a card to belay.  You will be able to belay during open climb or for special events.Auto Belay certification you will be shown proper way to put on harness. attach carabiner, slow climb, and properly tore Auto Belay.  Requirements for Auto Belay, Auto Belay Card, weight 22-265 pounds, ages 4-15 must have a guardian with them 18 years or older, all participants need waiver.

Develop strength, balance, problem-solving skills, and mental resilience. Rock Climbing I (Ages 4-6)  - Allows young beginners the opportunity to climb and boulder on our 24-foot high wall.Rock Climbing II (Ages 7-12) - Includes climbing and bouldering games and competitions along with conditioning elements.

Youth Volleyball classes are supervised by Kathleen Washington, who played at Rutgers University and went on to play professionally in France.Beginner (Ages 8-10) - For those with little to no experience.  VolleyLite balls will be used.Volleyball I (Ages 10-12) - Focuses on serving, passing, setting and hitting using VolleyLite balls, knee pads recommended.Volleyball II (Ages 12-17) - Builds on the basics using standard volleyballs, in addition to teaching team play principles.

Registration includes the $15 fee for the Pre-Skills Test. If the candidate does not pass the Pre-Skills Water Test, the registration fee will be refunded minus the $15 for the Pre-Skills Test.
